Vaporizers are rapidly becoming one of the most popular ways to enjoy cannabis. As dry herb becomes increasingly mainstream, thousands of people are becoming more receptive to it. However, smoking joints and pipes are off-putting to many, mainly for health reasons. That’s where vaporizers storm in.
Vapes use advanced heating systems to take advantage of the boiling points of the various compounds found in cannabis. There are two main types of heating system: Convection and conduction.
Convection heating works by heating up the air surrounding cannabis. Much like an oven, it works by gradually baking out the active ingredients into a dense and tasty vapor. This type of heating is often seen in desktop vaporizers and high-end portable vapes.
Conduction, on the other hand, works far more directly. Much like a skillet, it directly heats cannabis, quickly evaporating the active ingredients. This is by far the quickest form of heating and is most frequently found in portable vaporizers due to it’s simple design and affordability.
